Convergent Click-to-Call — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 26, 2026

This policy covers the Convergent Click-to-Call browser extension (the "Extension"), published by Convergent Communications ("we", "us"). It applies together with our main privacy policy and, for our customers, with the agreements between us and your organization.

What the Extension Does

It lets a person with a Convergent account place phone calls through their organization's Convergent phone system by clicking phone numbers in their browser. When you click a number, your own phone rings first, and the call is placed only after you answer it.

What It Processes on Your Computer Only

  • Page content. To find phone numbers, the Extension reads the text of the web pages you visit. This happens entirely in your browser. Page content is never stored, logged or sent to us or anyone else. You can turn number detection off for any website, or everywhere, from the Extension's toolbar button.
  • Your settings: your default extension and the websites where number detection is off. These are stored in your browser.

What It Sends, and to Whom

Data Sent to Why
The phone number you choose to call, and which of your extensions to ring Your organization's Convergent phone system To place the call you asked for
A device access token The Convergent dashboard and your organization's phone system To confirm that this browser is allowed to place calls for your account

The Extension sends nothing else. In particular, it sends no browsing history, page content, analytics or usage tracking. Calls placed with it are recorded in your organization's Convergent call history like any other call, and are subject to your organization's recording and retention settings and our main privacy policy.

The Device Access Token

When you connect the Extension, the Convergent dashboard issues a token for this browser and the Extension stores it locally. The token can only be used to place calls from extensions assigned to you. It cannot be used to sign in to the dashboard or to see call history, recordings, messages or contacts. You can disconnect from the Extension at any time. You or your administrator can revoke the token from the dashboard under Settings → Profile → Connected browsers. It also stops working if your account is deactivated, and it expires after 90 days without use.

Sharing

We do not sell data from the Extension, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the service providers that operate the Convergent service on our behalf under contract, or as required by law. Our use of this information is limited to providing the click-to-call feature.

Security

All communication with the dashboard and phone system is encrypted (HTTPS and secure WebSockets). Tokens are stored on our servers only in hashed form.

Children

The Extension is a business tool. It is not directed at children.

Changes

We will update this page when the Extension's handling of data changes, and update the "Last updated" date.
